Premier League – Game week 1 key trends

The 2019/20 Premier League season kicks off on Friday August 9th when Liverpool play host to newly promoted Norwich City.

Nine other games take place across Saturday and Sunday, here are the key early trends for each game over the opening weekend along with some early bet suggestions.

Liverpool v Norwich

Liverpool have won to nil in five of their last 7 Premier League home games and have scored 2 or more goals in all seven of these games. Liverpool to win to nil @ 1.66

West Ham v Man City

Man City have scored 4 goals in each of their last two visits to West Ham and finished last season with 7 away wins whilst conceding only two goals. Man City to win & Over 3.5 goals @ 2.50

Bournemouth v Sheffield United

Bournemouth won three of their opening four home games last season but also conceded in three of those games. Newly promoted Sheffield United scored in each of their last 11 games in the Championship. Bournemouth to win & Over 2.5 goals @ 2.87

Burnley v Southampton

Head-to-head the last three meetings have finished all square and four of the last 5 have featured under 2.5 goals. Draw @ 3.20

Crystal Palace v Everton

Palace failed to score in any of their opening four home games last season but meet an inconsistent Everton side who won only one of their last 5 away games in the Premier League. Under 2.5 goals @ 1.72

Leicester v Wolves

Leicester finished the season strongly losing only one of their last six home games at the King Power; Wolves scored in three of their opening four away games. Both Teams To Score @ 1.90

Watford v Brighton

Watford lost their last three games of the season and suffered an FA Cup final 6-0 humiliation; Brighton are woefully inconsistent and have failed to win in any of their last nine league games. Under 2.5 goals @ 1.66

Tottenham v Aston Villa

Tottenham have kept just one clean sheet in their last five Premier League games. Both Teams to Score @ 2.25

Newcastle v Arsenal

Newcastle lost all their opening five home games last season; Arsenal won three of their first four away games last season and average three goals per game. Arsenal @ 2.00

Man United v Chelsea

United haven’t suffered a home defeat to Chelsea since May 2013. Man United -0.25 Asian Handicap @ 1.90
