The Omega European Masters tees off on Thursday morning at the beautiful Crans-sur-Sierre course high in the Swiss Alps.
A short par 71 course of 6,800 yards there is a premium a good iron play so it’s no surprise to see Peter Hanson and Paul Lawrie at the top of the market at respective prices of 16/1 and 22/1.
Picks for the Omega European Masters:
Miguel Angel Jimenez 33/1
Jimenez has a great track record around this course and has his house by the 1st tee. He won the event in 2010 and has six top-10 finishes from 10 appearances making him a worthwhile each-way bet here at 33/1.
He has some good recent form having posted three solid rounds at the USPGA for a top-30 finish and is primed to go well this weekend.
Henrik Stenson 30/1
The Swedish player has been in and out of form this season but there are signs that he’s ready to come back to his best. He has finished in the top-10 in his last three European Tour events. Last week at the Barclays he shot a second-round 65 but undone that good work the following day with some poor play.
This course will suit him as he’ll be able to hit irons of many of the tees and has good scrambling stats which will be good for the short par-fours. His last two appearances at this course saw him finish 13th and 25th but he’s in better for now and that should see him go close here.
