Rahm worth the risk at USPGA

Ray Flanagan with USPGA selection

An interesting tournament is unfolding at Harding Park.

Jon Rahm endured a frustrating round yesterday battling over par for most of the afternoon. To the fiery Spaniards credit he did not throw in the towel and battled to keep himself in the tournament through the prevailing strong winds recording a satisfactory even par finish.

He will be out on the milder morning conditions for Round Two and could make up lost ground. The recently turned World Number One can be streaky when he gets going, as judged indeed by his impressive Sunday at Lahinch last season. He could easily find his stride today and shoot low. He looks worth a sporting outright pick at this juncture five shots off the speed at a chalk of 28-1.
