Peter Teazle had an 8/1 winner on Thursday and he bids to keep up the good work on Friday with 2 bets.
Kempton 6:20 – Voice Control
Ventriloquist heads the market for this 1 mile maiden, but he doesn’t seem to be progressing and his inability to settle has proven costly on his 3 runs so far and he can be taken here.
Our selection is the once raced Voice Control for the Sir Michael Stoute yard. The son of Dalakhani was very green on his debut at Newmarket 4 weeks ago, when the soft ground may not have been ideal either. However he really began to learn what the game was about in the closing stages and made up a lot of ground on the leaders in the final couple of furlongs.
He is bred to want middle distances, but this step up a mile on his second start looks to be fine for now and the polytrack is likely to suit him much better than the relatively testing ground last time. His stable’s horses always come on a lot of their debuts and we would expect him to progress markedly from that initial effort. The 5/2 looks very reasonable and it would be no surprise to see him challenging for favouritism as we approach the 6:20 off time.
Kilbeggan 6:30 – Silver Tassle
Silver Tassle took a long time to confirm the promise of his debut in a Gowran bumper in October 2012 and it was not until the 8th time of asking that he opened his account, having been a beaten favourite twice before this win at Downpatrick.
However he put up a solid sequence of runs after that including a further win at Clonmel last October. He has not been seen since he fell when going nicely at Fairyhouse over Easter, but he was well worth his 124 rating over hurdles and he has the size and scope to make a better chaser.
The ground at Kilbeggan should be fine and he should take a lot of beating on his debut over the larger obstacles.
