Steve Hughes previews day two of York
A brief preview of Thursday’s York card. Magic Circle got us off to a profitable start yesterday – advised 5/1.
York 3.00 Chelsea Lad & Qassem
Chelsea Lad has been knocking on the door for a while and was second on soft ground here in a hot handicap in May. Has been gelded since his last run when third at Windsor and is well drawn on his preferred softish ground.
Connections appear to have found Qassem’s correct trip after he defeated some highly promising types at a mile at Chelmsford last time. He was fifth over 10f with cut in the ground in the spring here when not quite getting home and looks overpriced from a handy draw.
York 4.50 Bint Arcano
An easy winner over this trip at Doncaster on soft last time, she has good form on all sorts of ground and is a strong travelling type who can adapt well to this upping in grade.
1pt win – Chelsea Lad – 3.00 York – 8/1 SportingBet
0.5pts each-way – Qassem – 3.00 York – 14/1 general
