Organist to call tune at Warwick

Ray Flanagan with Saturday selections

Thought for the day : As a child I used to draw pictures of racetracks and Warwick was the first course I learned.

Three very interesting handicaps this Saturday and a few selections.

Warwick 2.25- The Organist and Templeross

The Organist caught the eye in a mares handicap at Cheltenham last April and confirmed the promise of that when scoring a little cosily I felt at Newbury in December. Looks a progressive staying mare and while Warwick might be sharper than ideal 3M 1 F on soft should compensate.

Templeross has been a bit disappointing this term but would have a cracking chance if recapturing the form which seen him placed at Ascot and Kempton in the Lanzarote Hurdle last season. Forceful tactics will be ideally suited to Warwick and I will not be a bit surprised if he bounces back to form after a 49 day break.

Warwick 3.35-Indian Castle

Indian Castle has been shaping as a bit of a plodder in his two recent outings following a spell on the sidelines and might improve for going up in distance this afternoon. Well handicapped on old form, he has the services of Robert Dunne who is reported to be a very good chase jockey and in-addition the presence of first-time visor also make him interesting.

Kempton 2.40- William Henry, Red Indian and Dino Velvet

The Lanzarote Hurdle.

At the prices available I am happy to back three. Topping the list is William Henry representing Nicky Henderson, who is getting married today.

William has the best individual piece of form by virtue of his second to Wholestone in novice company at Cheltenham last season. Hard to know what to expect with little recent form but that not usually a problem coming from these quarters.

Red Indian is nicely handicapped on basis of second to Golden Birthday at Warwick. Solid seasonal debut on bottomless ground at Cheltenham in November and no doubt he is a serious contender today.

Dino Velvet was a big eye-catcher in the Fred Winter last March although the form of that contest has taken a few knocks in recent months. Looks a horse with more to offer though and again has shaped better than his final place suggested on both starts this season. Lively outsider.
