Ray Flanagan with Cork selections
Thought for the day; The man in the picture, Mr David Niall Russell, a genius in the saddle and possibly the most gifted jockey in the history of the sport.
I am looking forward to getting the jumps over with and getting into the flat properly this season. The ground is too soft for me yet but a few for a sporting interest at Cork.
Cork 4.45- Happy Company and Binary Code
Happy Company concluded 2017 as a progressive handicapper on the upgrade. He recorded a win at Navan in between two pleasing placed efforts at Killarney and Galway. Looks the type to progress further today and will take beating if ready.
Binary Code finished ahead of Happy Company in the Killarney race and ran a couple of good races last season including when shaping better than final place indicated at Fairyhouse in October. Had one run over hurdles at Leopardstown over Christmas so hopefully will be fit enough to give it a rattle.
Cork 5.15- Stormy Air
Your typical three duck egg maiden performer appearing in their first handicap. I thought he shaped ok at Naas a few weeks ago staying on under tender handling in 13th place in a 20 runner sprint maiden won by Katie Cruel. The distaff side of the pedigree is interesting (related to few 100 + performers) and so is the jockey booking.
