Ray Flanagan with Ascot selections
Ascot 3.05- Delano Roosevelt
Plenty of promise as a juvenile prior to fine initial run this season bustling up Hazapour in Leopardstown Derby trial. Was quietly fancied for the Derby; disappointed on that occasion, but well worth another chance today.
Ascot 4.20- Alpha Centauri
Highly regarded by her trainer Jessica Harrington. Big hope here last year when narrowly denied in the Albany Stakes. Justified trainers faith with fine success in the Irish Guineas last month. I was impressed at how strongly the filly was going at the finish despite having been racing hard from a long way out. Looks potentially very useful and should be hard to stop under similar conditions here.
Ascot 5.35- Eynhallow
Verociously hot handicap and while in the past I might have taken three against the field, I think it is kop-on time and just take one for an interest.
The vote goes to Eynhallow who showed plenty of promise in two Meydan outings in the spring. He was unlucky behind Gold Star first time up and got a shocker of a steer when a fast finishing second to Walton Street next time. Looks a horse of potential and interesting to see how he fares.
Limerick -8.50-Mystique Heights
Showed potential from off the pace at Roscommon a few starts ago and improved on that with fair third to Hurricane Sky ten days ago. Step up to 2 miles likely to suit and this could be his chance .
