Steve Hughes has a best bet for Thursday
Some of the bigger courses in Britain are in action on Thursday, although the continued fast ground perhaps reduces the competitive nature of the racing somewhat. I have a best bet on the Epsom card this evening. We had a cracking day on Sunday with selections in both races winning – Virgilio (advised 9/1) and Hammersly Lake (advised 4/1).
Epsom 7.35: Prestbury Park
His form in recent months has been poor but front-running Prestbury Park could enjoy a tactical advantage from the front at Epsom and can return to winning ways at Epsom.
Stepped up to 7 ½f at Chester for his last run he showed up well for a long way before tiring inside the final furlong. This race is only 120 yards shorter, but the bulk of it is downhill and Prestbury Park looks the only one likely to force a gallop so jockey Jim Crowley ought to be able to get an easy lead.
Stamina can thus be conserved better and the horse has shown good form when able to dominate, making all to win at both Haydock and Chester last season on fast ground.
