Ray Flanagan with Tuesday Galway selections
thought for the day: It is very hard win any money but we are only human after all.
Not badly treated on pick of form including Gowran maiden win and second in a Tipperary conditions event last season. Ran ok if not spectacularly in two outings this season back in the spring. Has shown an aptitude for heavy ground though and ability to travel well in a race is a good asset around this undulating track. Squeak if ready to roll after a break.
Galway 5.15-Princess Yaiza and Morga
The Oyster Stakes.
Princess Yaiza brings the best form credentials to the table by virtue if her listed placed form this season. She ran another good race in a hot handicap here at the summer festival over the course and distance and a similar effort should render her hard to beat.
With conditions likely to be bottomless we could get a funny result and Morga cannot be discounted. A durable type she has plenty of soft ground form and her stamina will be an asset in the conditions.
Galway -5.45-Insignia of Rank
No soft ground form but has plenty of relatives who went well on soft so for that reason we will chance overlooking his lack of previous ground conditions experience. Has contested some better contests than this one and might relish the drop in grade.
Galway-6.45- Comeragh Haze
Well handicapped on basis of debut second to Future Proof at Leopardstown in April and reason to believe testing ground should be ok for her. Needs to improve on handicap debut at Sligo but worth another chance.
