Steve Hughes has a best bet for Thursday
There is just the single jumps fixture on Thursday and I have an each-way bet for the card at Ludlow. Lostintranslation got our 2019 campaign off to a winning start on Tuesday (advised 100/30)
Ludlow 1.45: Muthabir
There are plenty of positives regarding Muthabir’s chances at Ludlow today and he rates a cracking each-way bet.
The 9yo reserves his best for flat, right-handed tracks. His last three wins have been gained at Huntingdon, Taunton and Kempton, whilst he has been third and fourth in his two previous visits here. His last two wins have come at 3m, the distance of today’s race. He also made a satisfactory comeback when fourth at Kempton in November and will surely be straighter for that run.
Champion jockey Richard Johnson has been aboard Muthabir on three occasions and has won in two of those contests. If that were not enough, the selection is back down to a mark of 115 – he last raced off a rating that low when winning at Taunton in April 2017 and the only other occasion he dropped to within a pound of that mark, he won at Kempton last season. It is fair to say therefore that he has reached that threshold from which he can win once more.
1pt each-way – Muthabir – 1.45 Ludlow – 6/1 general (Bet365 ¼ odds first 3)
