Ray Flanagan with Meydan selections
thought for the day: It is hard to pick a winner
A few selections from Meydan for an interest including two Mike De Kock representatives.
Meydan 4.15- Glenamoy Lad
Signed off 2017 as a progressive horse after winning impressively at Newcastle. Well fancied for Stewards Cup on seasonal debut last season. Was a shade unlucky there and went on to win subsequently on the all weather. Probably still fairly handicapped and with the onset of the new year brings a chance to make an impact in the desert.
Meydan 5.25-Light The Lights
Useful enough performer on turf and won on this card 12 months ago. Not a bad effort in a strong race last week and definite chance here if can handle the dirt. No obvious indications from the pedigree but at the end of the day I am somewhat of a chancer with my betting and I will chance my arm here.
Meydan 6.00- Baroot
Looked a horse on the up when impressive in a non- carnival event last year. Subsequent second to Kidmenever was a fine effort and looks like a horse with more in the locker. Might need the run but otherwise a solid case can be made.
