Ray Flanagan with Saturday selections
As regular readers will know, I can be very lacking in self confidence at times, however what I take from this Cheltenham festival is that despite not making any profits, if I work harder and watch more previous races, I am capable of picking some winners and placed horses.
A few for an interest this Saturday.
Uttoxeter 3.00- Bold Plan and Forecast
Novices have been doing well in these types of handicap races recently and Bold Plan’s novice form looks definitely better than an opening mark of 130.
Forecast could go well at a price. He was not beaten far by Paisley Park last October and shaped well in a Cheltenham handicap on New Years Day.
Uttoxeter 3.35- Back To The Thatch
Well fancied 12 months ago and although below par there, he is a year stronger now and looks to have been specifically aimed for this. Ran excellent trial at Haydock over Christmas and more patient tactics over the marathon trip could pay dividends.
Kempton 2.40-Honest Vic
Another Henry Daly representative. Good effort at Cheltenham last spring and put a few disappointing efforts behind with a close Ascot second recently with Malaya (Imperial Cup winner ) behind. Similar effort could give him every chance.
