Steve Hughes has a single bet for Sunday
Fairly modest stuff on Sunday after the excitement of Epsom. As a consequence I am limiting myself to a single bet in the sprint at Nottingham. We had a reasonable Saturday with a win for Soto Sizzler (SP 9/2) and a place for the each-way bet on Eeh Bah Gum (advised 12/1).
Nottingham 4.30: Spoof
Jockey Kieran Shoemark made the perfect return from a long suspension with a win on his first ride back at Lingfield last night for trainer Charlie Hills and he can maintain that run with Spoof this afternoon.
There have been excuses for his two defeats so far this term. The ground was too soft for him at Newbury on his return (when he may well have needed the run anyway) and I am not convinced he really wants 6f when beaten at York last time. Nevertheless a 7th of 21 in a class 2 contest was a decent effort and he should be better suited taking on a class 3 over 5f here.
He is only a pound higher than when last winning at Chester last May and was not beaten far over 5 ½f at York last summer. He than tried his hand, albeit unsuccessfully in listed and group races, so he is clearly well regarded by connections.
