Ray Flanagan with Tuesday Galway and Goodwood selections
thought for the day: “On my day I am the world’s greatest judge of Horse Racing”
A few selections from Galway and Goodwood
Has been running well in some top handicaps for a while perhaps sometimes better than others. His York second to the subsequent Cambridgshire winner Wissahickon was very good and he comes into the race off a very good second at Sandown. Strong travelling style should be well suited to this track and a fast ten furlongs could be his optimum conditions.
Goodwood 3.35- Cross Counter
Today’s trip and track likely to place more emphasis on speed which could play into the hooves of Melbourne Cup winner Cross Counter. Fancied to spring a slight surprise and reverse Ascot form with Stradivarius.
Galway 8.10- Dance Emperor and Cyrus Dallin
Dance Emperor is well handicapped relative to 2018 form. Has been showing signs of a revival of late and booking of Ben Coen combined with low draw give him every chance.
Cyrus Dallin was a supreme eye-catcher at Limerick recently. Could easily win if navigating a clear passage from the back of the field.
Galway 8.40- Tintoretto
John Joe struck last night although not with the one I wanted. At any rate he has another decent chance with Tintoretto has been showing up well in decent handicaps this term. The key here is a change of tactics; normally held up he must go prominent making use of stall one. If he does this he could prove hard to catch with his stamina for a little further important.
