Must be Mekong in the Ebor

Ray Flanagan with Ebor Saturday selections

thought for the day: I might give the horses up for a while after today. I am just not able to pick any winners. Then again even the greats of the game-Paul Kealy, Tom Segal, Steve Hughes, another telephone tipster that I follow, none of them are finding any York winners.

1.50 York- Bangkok

Showed fine turn of foot to win classic trial at Sandown and far from disgraced behind Japan at Ascot. Dropping back in trip is the conundrum today but looks pacey enough to get away with it.

3.40 York-Mekong and Mustajeer

Mekong ran a nice race under different hold-up tactics last time out. Interestingly he started favourite for the Melrose last year but raced too freely from the front. If Moore can get him settled could easily have the class to win with his ability to go two miles a major plus.

Mustajeer ran a solid race last year and has been aimed at the race all year. Looked to have improved towards the back end of 2018 and fine reappearance effort in the Vintage Crop stakes at Navan. More confident if softer but could go well again.

York 4.45-Beringer and Johnny Drama

Beringer looked unlucky at Goodwood last time and has major claims on overall form. Similar remarks apply to Johnny Drama who posted a nice win at Roscommon earlier in the season and could enjoy conditions here.
