Delta will make it Work in the Gold Cup

Ray Flanagan with Cheltenham selections

thought for the day: I am feeling quite depressed with this Coronavirus-out of work and no pay (teaching) for the foreseeable future. It could be worse if we catch the dreaded illness I suppose.

Anyway a few for a sporting interest this afternoon.

Cheltenham 2.10- Aramon

Ran a good race in last years Supreme and caught the eye making stealthy late headway in the Irish Champion at Leopardstown. Might hold a class edge and I will be jumping for joy if he wins.

Cheltenham 3.30- Delta Work

May continue the recent sequence of 7-year olds winning. Thorough stayer whose ability to be strongest at the finish of a race is a good attribute in a potential Gold Cup winner. Has decent previous course form including Pertemps Hurdle win and RSA second. Two good wins at Leopardstown this season and should give it a good rattle.

Cheltenham 4.50- Paloma Blue and Lisp

Paloma Blue has been plying his trade at a slightly higher level over both hurdles and fences previously. Looks a decent each way bet.

Lisp was a very good handicap hurdler and has indicated good ability in a few novice chase events.

Cheltenham 5.30- Flash The Steel

Sparkling winner last autumn at Chepstow. Could sign off the meeting with a win for handicap expert Dan The Man Skelton.
