Ray Flanagan with Galway Bank Holiday Monday selections.
An interesting flat card at Galway today and hoping that a good day could be in-store for jockey Shane Cross.
Galway 1.55- Zofar Zogood
Couple of good efforts in mid summer /autumn behind Rocaroma at Leopardstown and runner-up in decent Punchestown handicap. Given a little break after poor effort most recently but big price here if the rest freshens him up.
Galway 4.15- Cerberus
We cannot be happy with the price but looks the best bet on the card ignoring that factor. Runner up in corresponding contest last year and fine effort on most recent flat start when third to Baron Samedi at Listowel. This looks a winnable opening.
Galway 4.45-Papal Parade
Has popped up on occasion in the past and most recent success was at Roscommon two years ago where he outbattled the useful One Cool Poet in a similar contest.
The fancy early prices have disappeared but still looks worth a bet following a promising recent return to action over an inadequate trip at Tipperary. Few question marks over some of the market leaders and booking of Shane Crosse suggests connections mean business.
