Ray Flanagan previews Saturday’s Racing.
A few for an interest on another Saturday of decent action and here’s hoping to get the month of December off to a good start with all funds welcome as we approach the Christmas.
Aintree- 12.55- Kateson,
Has regressed since an excellent novice campaign where he was placed in a graded contest behind Champ and Getaway Trump at Newbury. Uttoxeter run in the spring was encouraging and will appreciate dropping back in trip and encountering slow ground here after not quite sustaining it on his comeback run over 3 miles. First -time cheekpieces look a positive addition and could go well.
Aintree 1.30 La Breuil
The market has not missed La Breuil but he appeals as nicely handicapped today and can improve on his showing last year. The 2019 National Hunt Chase winner, he struggled as a second season chaser last year, in-reality being too high in the handicap. He ran a nice race though in this event jumping very slickly over the fences and enjoys a significant pull at the weights today with a few of his rivals who were ahead of him. A year on he ought to be a stronger horse and looks better weighted this time around.
Aintree-3.15- Dingo Dollar
Exuberant front running type has lost his way a little but hopefully a recent wind operation can work the oracle. Would have a big shout on the form of his good effort in the 2019 Hennessey at Newbury and his exuberant front running style combined with dropping down in trip all point favourably towards his chances.
Chepstow 1.57- The Two Amigos
Excellent effort in last years Welsh National where he matched strides with the tough Yala Enki out in front for a long way before tiring in the latter stages. Today’s contest much easier though and a repeat of that effort should see him give it a good shot.
