Take the Risk at Tramore

Ray Flanagan with Musselburgh and Tramore selections

thoughts for the day: Happy New Year to all readers and heres hoping for a profitable year.

My main hopes for the year are people to remain healthy and well, maintain relations with my girlfriend, see an end to Covid 19 and find a few winners. All we can do is hope for the best.

Sadly Cheltenham has been abandoned today although we have the return of dual Gold Cup heroine Al Boum Photo (pictured) at Tramore.

My main selections are at Musselburgh.

Musselburgh 1.55- Rosie and Millie

Rosie and Millie has competed well in two strong handicaps of late running especially well behind Buzz at Ascot. She could not dictate like she enjoys at Sandown last time out and hopefully she can control matters on this sharper circuit today.

Musselburgh 3.05- Red Risk

Red Risk performed nicely at Market Rasen on his penultimate start and should be suited by this track which benefits positive racers. Slightly softer ground and seven pound claim from the jockey will also help the cause, at least we hope.

Tramore -2.02- Siberian Star

Philip Rothwell’s charge did not shape too badly in recent races at Listowel and Tramore. Application of cheek-pieces could help his chance and handicapped better than most provided ground conditions not too soft.
