Ray Flanagan provides selections on the Two Mile Handicap.
After a little break we return for an interesting weeks racing on the Knavesmire of York. A look at today’s big two mile handicap where the cigar smoking Mark Prescott (pictured) has an interesting contender.
York 4.10- Bodyline and Get Shirty
Bodyline entered a few notebooks in what proved a strong Royal Ascot handicap in 2020 and this lightly raced type appeals as having more to offer over staying trips. Housed by the shrewd Prescott, who has readied a horse or two for a big handicap back in the day, the son of Australia should strip fitter for a recent run at Musselburgh and may find further improvement for racing in a bigger field this afternoon, having had too make his own running on each of his latest two starts.
Get Shirty is another contender who could be potentially well handicapped on his French form and also represents a yard in David O Meara who does well with new recruits from other stables. His placed form in listed and group company in France catches the eye and could easily prove well treated here off a mark of 98.
