Bets of the Weekend – July 25th/26th

Our bets of the weekend column brings you the best tips from a number of well-informed connections associated with BetPreviews.

Max Daly: Watersmeet to win the 2.50 Haydock Saturday @ 9/1: Watersmeet has gone up 26lb in the handicap so far this season and can put in yet another bold show to take the bet365 Old Newton Cup over 1m 4f. The selection did not appear to get the run of the race last time out at Royal Ascot and can resume his progress in this always competitive heat.

The Editor: Copa America – Peru to beat Paraguay @ 6/5: It is always tricky for teams to recover from losing a semi-final but Peru will be happier than Paraguay with their midweek effort. The Incas had every reason to feel hard done by after a Tuesday 2-1 defeat to hosts Chile which was heavily influenced by the dismissal of Carlos Zambrano. Wednesday’s 6-1 loss to Argentina appeared a game too far for Paraguay, who had dug deep to eliminate Brazil in the quarter-finals.

Thomas Henry: Copa America –  Chile v Argentina – Both Teams To Score @ 19/20: Both teams have incredible talent at their disposal and although Argentina smashed into the final, Chile are a step up from Paraguay. The hosts are capable of taking the game to their rivals, cheered by a partisan crowd, and key hitman Alexis Sanchez is a big price to open the scoring.
